The Neighborhood of the Arts Business Association (NOTABA) is a collective voice for the diverse businesses, artists, and service organizations located in Rochester’s Neighborhood of the Arts (NOTA).
Our purpose is to help NOTA grow into a vibrant commercial arts district, distinguished by the neighborhood’s unique character.
To benefit the businesses, artists, and service organizations of the Neighborhood Of The Arts (NOTA) by providing a forum for sharing information, networking, civic involvement, and promotion of members and their activities in an effort to attract visitors to the neighborhood

Chris serves as Deputy Director at Writers & Books, Rochester's home for the literary arts and is a public relations professional and community builder. As President of NOTABA, Chris leads strategic planning and serves as an ambassador for the NOTA business community. He is committed to fostering connections and strengthening local businesses. He is also involved with BASE (Business Associations of the South East), an ad hoc group of board members from the various Business and Merchant Associations in the area working towards breaking down silos and working collectively to enhance the SE Quadrant. A NOTA resident for over ten years, Chris enjoys frequenting NOTA businesses and walking the neighborhood while reading a book.

Lauren has been a NOTA resident for over a decade. In addition to her full-time role as Marketing and Operations Coordinator at Pinnacle Hill Chiropractic, she helps small Rochester businesses with social media and marketing. As Vice President of NOTABA, she supports the President in executing board initiatives and manages the Association’s social media presence. In her spare time, Lauren enjoys listening to podcasts, volunteering, and introducing friends and family to her favorite Rochester hotspots.

Helana is the Public Relations Coordinator at the Breast Cancer Coalition, where she works in communications and community outreach, sharing the importance of equitable access to the Coalition's resources with organizations and businesses in NOTA and in the Rochester area. As our Secretary, Helana applies her community building and organizational skills to supporting board initiatives, managing the event calendar, and recording meeting minutes. When she's not busy working to support and advocate for breast and gynecologic cancer survivors, she enjoys performing in community theatre, practicing yoga, and spending time outdoors.

Kathy previously served as Tenant Relations and Leasing Manager at Stern Properties, where she played a key role in residential management and daily operations. As Treasurer of NOTABA, she oversees the Association’s financial operations, including budgeting and ensuring the organization’s financial health. Now retired, Kathy splits her time between Rochester and Tampa, enjoying sunny walks with her granddaughter, exploring new restaurants, and attending baseball games with her hubby.
Our first NOTA Business Association meeting of 2025 is scheduled for Tuesday, January 7 at 12:00 PM. 📆
